Comedian and former Saturday Night Live regular Norm MacDonald is coming to Centrepointe Theatre on April 16. Although born in Quebec City, MacDonald's family later moved to Ottawa where he first tried standup at local comedy clubs. His first big break came at the 1987 Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. He moved to the United States and wrote for Roseanne and The Dennis Miller Show before joining the writing staff of SNL in 1993. He was later picked to do Weekend Update and stayed with the NBC show until 1997. He has appeared in movies and starred in two television series, Norm and A Minute with Stan Hooper.
